Mailing Lists a Quick Guide.
A mailing list is simply a redistribution mechanism for
email. If you know how to send email and you have an email
address then you can participate. If you send a message to a
mailing list them everyone who subscribes to that list will be
emailed a copy of your email. If you subscribe to a mailing
list then you will recieve a copy of every message sent to the
list.
You send messages to everyone on the list by sending an
email to the group address. If you want to reply to the
messages that you receive simply reply to the message.
You should be able to unsubscribe easily to any mailing
list and also should be asked to confirm that you do indeed
wish to recieve mail from the list.
